Brassinosteroids are potent
plant growth regulators of steroidal nature, the first compound of which, isolated
from a natural source, is brassinolide. Since 1979 dozens
of compounds of similar structure were isolated from numerous plant sources or synthesised from
abundant sterols.
Brassinolide
Due to their intriguing plant physiological activity
and potential agricultural uses, many efforts are currently being made on their
detection, analysis, extraction, isolation, synthesis, biosynthesis,
metabolism, physiological activity, and practical applications in agriculture.
This page intends to be a brief source of citations on
these compounds (scientific papers and meetings communications, patents,
reviews, books, thesis, etc.), but not a source of reprints or abstracts. If your work is not (or is inadequately) cited here, please mail
for additions and corrections.
